We all reach a time in life when we begin asking deeper questions. In Part 6 of our Self-Discovery Series, I want to share a piece of my personal journey and what has shaped my purpose.

A Life Shaped by Family, Challenges, and Purpose
I am a mother of three and a grandmother of eight. My family is my heart. Through them—and because of them—I discovered that I have a natural ability to inspire and guide others. My life experiences have allowed me to help men and women on their health and wellness journeys and support them as they explore who they are.
Even when life became challenging, I never let go of my dream of being a life coach. I am an overcomer. My husband and I celebrate 45 years together this year, and although many seasons were difficult, I never stopped fighting for what mattered.
One of my life purposes is to encourage human beings to embark on their self-discovery journey. To ask themselves: Who am I? What do I want? And why?
1. The Power of Self-Discovery
Self-discovery helped me learn who I truly am. It also allowed me to witness the beauty of others discovering themselves. There is a deep joy in seeing someone rise from adversity and learn to walk in their truth.
I’ve studied self-discovery for many years—through books, teachers, programs, and life itself. I am now part of an incredible program called Elevated Alliance, and it has opened me even further.
What I’ve learned is this: Self-discovery is lifelong—and worth every moment. I refuse to reach the end of my life with dreams still inside me because of fear. Now, I take risks with desire and faith. My fears have become allies. My adversities have become lessons. Obstacles no longer stop me—they strengthen me.
2. Discovering Who You Are Gives You Power
When you discover who you are, you feel alive. You feel aligned. You feel purpose calling your name. Self-discovery helps you understand your passions, your preferences, your boundaries, your triggers, and your needs. It shows you who belongs in your environment and who doesn’t. Change is inevitable. And with every completed lesson comes growth.
My advice? Stay aware. Stay receptive. Look in the mirror each day and connect with yourself. Ask the questions that move you forward. This is how you unlock freedom. This is how you design a life of meaning.
3. Life Gets in the Way—But Don’t Let It Stop You
Like many of us, I have faced seasons where life demanded my full attention. My husband needed support. My daughter returned to school. My son moved back home. I raised my grandson for 18 months and I now care for my 6-year-old granddaughter.
Life got busy, but I didn’t stop. I didn’t quit. I didn’t abandon my dreams. Even in the chaos, I continued studying, learning, and preparing. I stayed ready so that when life settled, I could step forward again. The road may twist, but eventually, you reach the straight stretch. And every time, I came back stronger, more determined, and more aligned with my purpose.
4. Who Are You—Truly?
We are here for a reason. Each of us has a purpose. But we must dig deep and find it. What makes you feel alive? What empowers you? What matters to you?
This truth resonates deeply in my soul: I am formless, positive, powerful, infinite, intelligent, love, light, energy. Who you are on the inside determines everything you experience on the outside. Let your inner truth guide you. Let it shine through every part of your life. Be the light for those who cross your path.
